About Me

Hi, I’m Gareth Myers, Owner and Sports Massage Therapist at GM Sports Massage.

I’m proud to be local to Huddersfield, living in Holmfirth, where my passion for sport and physical wellbeing has always been a big part of my life.

My Background

I studied at Holmfirth High School and then continued my education at Huddersfield New College, completing a BTEC National Diploma in Sports & Exercise Science. From there, I worked within Kirklees Schools as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, focusing on physical education and sport.

Alongside this, I built valuable experience as a former FA Referee, officiating matches up to a professional standard.

My Sporting Life

Sport has always been central to who I am. I play both cricket and football locally:

• Cricket – I play for Holmfirth Cricket Club, where I have had the honour of captaining the club.
• Football – I represent Holmbridge Football Team.

These experiences have given me first-hand insight into the demands and challenges athletes face, which I bring into my work as a sports massage therapist.

My Qualifications

I trained with the Complementary Medical Association, achieving my Sports Massage Practitioner Certificate before further enhancing my skills with a Cupping Therapy Diploma.

My Mission

At GM Sports Massage, my goal is simple:

To provide high-quality sports massage treatments that support recovery, improve performance, and help clients maintain peak physical health—whether they’re professional athletes, fitness enthusiasts, or anyone who wants to move and feel better.
